Sono veramente poche le pop star che possono vantare una laurea in scienze politiche e in storia, da un'università con la fama della George Washington University a Washington, D.C.
Tra i suoi impieghi troviamo anche quello del coreografo, dello scrittore.

Leggendo un quotidiano, è veramente difficile che Haddaway non focalizzi il suo interesse nemmeno su un argomento, perchè sono veramente tante le sue passioni, e gli argomenti in cui è competente, dalla biologia marina, al razzismo, alla storia degli indiani nord-americani, fino a spaziare nel cibo degli Stati Uniti.
Ma dei vari talenti del suo repertorio, ha scelto di seguire la strada della musica. Si dedica alla musica con passione, ma anche con intelligenza.
